Directive 2014/30/EU on electromagnetic compatibility requires all electrical and electronic equipment to comply with strict requirements for electromagnetic emissions and immunity, ensuring safety and compliance in the environment in which it operates.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) laboratories must be equipped with the necessary equipment to perform a wide range of tests for full compliance with EMC standards harmonised with Directive 2014/30/EU. All equipment must be periodically calibrated and traceable to recognised national standards in accordance with ISO 17025.
